They are indispensable in the fields of regional administration, social services, education, conservation and many others. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div id=\"0\" class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-66db18c4 alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do we influence the city and the region?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"q-list\">\n<li>We have educated more than <strong>11,000<\/strong> professionals in the humanities and social sciences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We cultivate the public environment of the region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We provide an analysis of the needs of (marginalised) social groups.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Where are we heading?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"q-list\">\n<li>We want to be a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Admission\/Exchange-studies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">gateway to the world<\/a> for young Pilseners. We offer our students more than <strong>200<\/strong> bilateral agreements with universities around the world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We want to cultivate cutting-edge and open science. We publish an average of <strong>4<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Research\/Publikacni-cinnost\/monografie.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">scholarly books<\/a> a&nbsp;year with prestigious foreign publishers. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div id=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-uagb-container full-width-container-image uagb-block-c0c8a9c3 alignfull uagb-is-root-container\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-c6cb7cf5\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-e9d526b2\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-bf9323ac\">\n<p>A major contribution of the Faculty of Arts in contemporary education is its <strong>long-standing focus on linking the humanities and social sciences with digital technologies<\/strong>. This provides the region with graduates with skills that are in increased demand in the labour market and have the potential to further develop the region within the needs of the 21st century.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-740b6bcc\">\n<p class=\"text-more\">The very existence of the university is crucial for the region and its society. <strong>The cultivation of the humanities and social sciences is an essential condition for the education of an educated population<\/strong> and leads to the cultivation of the public environment. In addition, the Faculty of Arts has long been active in the public sphere and strives to give feedback to citizens and institutions in the region. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-4d4a7855\">\n<p class=\"text-more\">The Faculty of Arts has long been conducting <strong>analytical research<\/strong> in the areas of needs analysis of socially disadvantaged populations, <strong>case studies<\/strong> of socially excluded populations\/localities, <strong>analysis of citizens&#8217; sense of security<\/strong>, and <strong>analysis of secondary education<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-4f1b25a6\">\n<p class=\"text-more\"><strong>The results of these studies are crucial for the identification of risks and planning of integration projects and social services<\/strong>, or for the purposes of (community) planning of social services in the region, for the elaboration of various crime prevention concepts and for the planning of regional security policy, as well as for the integration of foreigners and so-called &#8220;minorities&#8221;, intercultural education and for other ways of political or public treatment of social and cultural differentiation in contemporary complex societies.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div id=\"2\" class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-3913c91d alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-e49e1c08\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\" style=\"text-transform:uppercase\">The Faculty of Arts is not just philosophy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-advanced-heading uagb-block-387fe631 citation\"><h6 class=\"uagb-heading-text\">Did you know that&#8230;<\/h6><p class=\"uagb-desc-text\">Only <strong>3 percent<\/strong> of the faculty study philosophy?<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Faculties of Arts generally provide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Admission\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">teaching in the humanities and social sciences<\/a>, i.e. sciences dealing with man and society. And these are essential for the development of human beings and society as a&nbsp;whole. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While new technologies are driving humanity forward rapidly, <strong>the humanities are helping us to better understand the very nature of existence<\/strong>. The humanities and social sciences contribute to and develop just such things as the nature of society or understanding. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The study of human behaviour and the functioning of human societies in the present and in the past around the world allows us to <strong>better understand differences, assess and respond to the crises we find ourselves in<\/strong>. Humanities and knowledge of the differences of cultures will help us much more. In difficult situations in life, you are unlikely to reach for a&nbsp;chemistry textbook. But it will be the <b>sciences such<\/b> as <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.kap.zcu.cz\/cs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">political science<\/a>, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/kss.zcu.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sociology<\/a> and <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/ksa.zcu.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">anthropology<\/a>, as well as <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/khv.zcu.cz\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">history<\/a>, <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/links\/web-kar\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">archaeology<\/a> or <a style=\"font-weight: bold;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Faculty\/Departments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">linguistics<\/a>, which can provide you with a&nbsp;&#8220;guide&#8221; to solving your problems.   <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>And it is these fields that are cultivated in the faculties of philosophy. Their spectrum is very wide. On the contrary.  <strong>Our learners acquire vital skills necessary for a&nbsp;successful life today.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The undeniable advantage of a&nbsp;broad base of acquired knowledge is the possibility to establish oneself on the labour market in more than one specialised field. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Of course, you can work as an archaeologist or sociologist, but <strong>graduates of philosophy faculties find a&nbsp;wide, almost unlimited range of applications<\/strong>: for example, in various educational and training institutions, the media, diplomacy, non-profit organizations, private companies, the civil service, or politics. In the last year, they have been working on 15 projects with international participation. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We try to connect the humanities and social sciences with the technical and natural sciences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The result is not only collaboration within <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Research\/research-topics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">interdisciplinary research teams<\/a>, but also the cultivation of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ff.zcu.cz\/cs\/Admission\/Follow-up-master-studies\/nabidka-studa-mgr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">joint study programmes<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is important for us to present the results of our research to the general public. The Faculty currently has more than <strong>200<\/strong> bilateral agreements with universities around the world, both within and outside the Erasmus+ programme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Each year, about <strong>120<\/strong> students go on an internship abroad.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We will also arrange foreign contacts for those who stay in Pilsen. Every year we welcome <strong>80-90<\/strong> foreign students to the faculty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In addition to the standard arrivals within the Erasmus+ programme, the Department of Archaeology implemented, for example, the &#8220;Summer School of Archaeology&#8221; within the ESF project of the University of West Bohemia, which was attended by a&nbsp;total of <strong>12<\/strong> foreign students.
